Delete your Aliqa account

Account and data deletion for the Aliqa app · Last updated 18 September 2026

This page is for users of Aliqa (the app on Google Play and the App Store), published by Agile Projects Pte. Ltd.. It explains how to request that your Aliqa account and associated data are deleted, what we delete, what we keep, and for how long.

How to request that your Aliqa account is deleted
  1. Open the Aliqa app on your phone and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Re-enter your password and confirm.

If you cannot open the app or sign in, email privacy@aliqa.app from the address on the account, with the subject line Delete my Aliqa account. Include the account email and ask us to delete the account and associated data. We will verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days.

Deleting the account is permanent after the retention windows below. If you want a copy of your meals and scores first, export it from Profile → Export before you delete (see App Support).

1. What happens when you delete

As soon as we process the request:

  • You are signed out on every device. Existing sessions and tokens stop working.
  • Your email is anonymised so the address can no longer identify you.
  • Your meals, photos, scores and other personal data are removed from the live service.
  • If the same Aliqa account is enrolled in The Aliqa Programme, that enrolment and its activity log are deleted too.

You will not be able to sign in again with that account. Creating a new Aliqa account later is a fresh start; previous meals and scores are not restored.

2. Data that is deleted

DataWhen it is deleted
Account details (email, password, language, timezone, preferences, badges, legal-acceptance record)Immediately from the live service. Unrecoverable after the 30-day backup window below.
Meal photos you uploadedImmediately from the live service; gone from backups after 30 days.
Food entries, items, tags, portions, and your correctionsSame as meal photos.
AI analyses, daily scores, weekly reviews, recommendationsSame as meal photos.
Clarification questions and answersImmediately from the live service.
Push-notification tokens and device recordsImmediately.
Data-export files and share images stored for youImmediately from the live service.
Programme enrolment and programme activity (if you used The Aliqa Programme with this account)Immediately from the live service.

3. Data that is kept, and for how long

Some records are kept after account deletion because the law requires it, because a processor still holds a short safety copy, or because they are no longer personal data. None of this is used to run an Aliqa account for you.

Data that is keptHow long
Encrypted backups of the live service (disaster recovery only; after this window the account cannot be restored)30 days after deletion
Billing and subscription records we receive from Google Play or the App Store (status, transaction identifiers, renewals, cancellations, refunds). Required for tax and accounting. We never receive your card number.7 years
A short audit record that an account was deleted (anonymised email, no meals or photos), so we can show the deletion was carried out2 years
API access logs (IP, approximate region, app/OS version; no meal photos or meal content), kept for security30–90 days, then they expire
Meal photo / description copies held by our AI sub-processor (OpenAI API) for trust-and-safety review. They do not train models on this API content.Up to 30 days on OpenAI's systems, then deleted there
Fully anonymised, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you, used to improve the serviceMay be kept indefinitely

We do not sell your personal data. We do not keep your meal photos or scores to train any AI model. Google and Apple keep their own copies of Play / App Store billing under their policies; we cannot delete those store records for you.

The full retention schedule is in the Privacy Policy §5.

4. Deleting the account does not cancel your subscription

Google Play (and the App Store) bill the subscription, not Aliqa. Deleting your Aliqa account does not stop Google or Apple charging you.

To cancel the Aliqa subscription on Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Aliqa, then Cancel subscription.

You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. For refunds, use Google Play's refund help. On iPhone, cancel under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
